We welcome expressions of interest from scholars whose work aligns closely with x.Machina’s mission and corpus.

Contributing scholars are selected on the basis of demonstrated expertise and contribution to the study of AI governance.

What to include

To support your expression of interest, please include the following in your email:

  • Full name — As you’d like it to appear (e.g. Dr Jane Smith)
  • Title — e.g. Associate Professor, Lecturer, PhD Candidate
  • Institution — Your primary affiliation
  • Secondary affiliation — Any additional roles or affiliations (optional)
  • Short bio — 1–2 sentences about your background and research focus
  • Headshot — A high-resolution photo for your profile (or note if you'll send one)
  • Website or profile — Personal page, institutional profile, or ORCID (optional)
  • Contribution — Please indicate which documents, jurisdictions, themes, or analysis you have contributed to, or how you would like to contribute (e.g. corpus development, document identification, short analysis, thematic or jurisdictional expertise, or commentary on national strategies, regulation, standards, or policy developments).

The profiles of existing contributing scholars (e.g. Kerem Öge, Timo Seidl) offer a useful reference for the level of detail we expect.

Beyond the corpus

x.Machina is building more than a corpus. Over time, the platform will make it easier to discover the scholars, institutions, and research projects shaping the global field of AI governance — making expertise more legible and discoverable across jurisdictions and themes.
